Book Review: A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

Writer's picture: Amy LittlefordAmy Littleford

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s actions and learn what she can about the invading king threatening to bring her land to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit. One slip could bring doom not only for Feyre, but for everything—and everyone—she holds dear.

As war bears down upon them all, Feyre endeavors to take her place amongst the High Fae of the land, balancing her struggle to master her powers—both magical and political—and her love for her court and family. Amidst these struggles, Feyre and Rhysand must decide whom to trust amongst the cunning and lethal High Lords, and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

In this thrilling third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Sarah J. Maas, the fate of Feyre’s world is at stake as armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy it.

My Review:

Rating: 5/5 stars.

Firstly, I'd like to thank Tandem Collective UK for gifting me this series for an honest review! I cannot express how grateful I am that I'm finally reading this series.

After the last book I thought that this one wouldn't be as good as a lot of people said ACOMAF was their favourite book in the series. Of course this book was as good! To say that I cried would be an understatement. That last 100 pages almost killed me. Sarah J. Maas literally ripped out my heart and then a little bit later put it back again. I was a little numb when I finished the book. The Court of Dreams family is such a well written group of characters and I found out in this book that I love every single one of them. I loved how all the female characters had such an important role in the war. At one point I stopped reading and started to sing 'Kinds & Queens' by Ava Max!

I enjoyed the fast pace and all the battle scenes. I understand that some readers feel like this book and series is very problematic but for me I don't see it. I'm not going to go into it because I don't want to spoil the book. I'm so glad that I can now say I've read Sarah J. Maas books and I cannot wait to start the next one later in the month!
