Book Review: Come Sundown by Nora Roberts

Love. Lies. Murder. A lot can happen... COME SUNDOWN

Bodine Longbow loves to rise with the dawn. As the manager of her family's resort in Western Montana, there just aren't enough hours in the day - for life, for work, for loved ones. She certainly doesn't have time for love, not even in the gorgeous shape of her childhood crush Callen Skinner, all grown up and returned to the ranch. Then again, maybe Callen can change her mind, given time...

But when a young woman's body is discovered on resort land, everything changes. Callen falls under the suspicion of a deputy sheriff with a grudge. And for Bodine's family, the murder is a shocking reminder of an old loss. Twenty-five years ago, Bodine's Aunt Alice vanished, never to be heard of again. Could this new tragedy be connected to Alice's mysterious disappearance?

As events take a dramatic and deadly turn, Bodine and Callen must race to uncover the truth - before the sun sets on their future together.

My Review:

Rating: 5/5 stars

I've really enjoyed reading Nora Roberts' books and this one looked so good! It definitely lived up to my expectations!

I love the way Roberts writes! She builds up such a great story every time with so much detail that is never overwhelming. It's not just characters in a book but she creates whole lives and communities that I love so much. In this book with have the Longbow/Bodine family who have a ranch/resort. It's such a close nit family that is full of strong women. It's almost like an omniscient narrator where we get the POV from almost everyone and she does it so seamlessly. The main POV's we get in this book are Bodine and Alice. Alice's story had me hooked from the very beginning. I almost forgot how deep Roberts goes when I started this. (There are trigger warnings that you should definitely be aware of before reading this).

It still amazes me that Roberts writes such amazing romance/thrillers which isn't something I've come across from other authors before. One page you could be reading such a romantic scene and then all of sudden you're in the depths of hell with Alice. Once I was able to give more time to reading the book I sped through it. I had to know what happened and I didn't have a clue when it came to the twist at the end. This is rich in description and setting is so important. I loved the family dynamics and can't express how much I was rooting for Alice! I really suggest you read a Nora Roberts book because everyone I've read has been amazing!
