Book Review: Inksomnia by Sharon Andrews

Writer's picture: Amy LittlefordAmy Littleford

A collection of poetry which explores a range of emotional topics such as self esteem, insomnia, sensuality, life and death.

My Review:

Rating: 4/5 stars

I've followed Sharon on Instagram for quite some time now and really enjoyed reading her poetry! Seeing that she published this book I had to read it. Her poetry flows so well and every piece has this beautiful rhythm. This meant that the book was very easy to read and there was no jolts at all.

There are 100 poems in this collection and most of them are medium to long form. Sharon also has some brilliant haikus in this collection. As you can tell from the title (which I love) this books topic surrounds insomnia. But of course that is not all. She write about the loss of her father and a child which broke my heart. There are also some very spicy poems in this collection as well which had me blushing! This collection takes you on many emotional journeys. I'm really eager to read Sharon's second collection, Moon Writing and hope to read it before the end of the year.
